  • His version of the story. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

I don't actually remember the very first time I met Bethany, I do remember our first actual conversation and the time I told my companion she was cute and wouldn't mind coming back to the mission to date her. Our first conversation was at our friend's house (oh hey, Alethea) and I told Bethany that I'd be coming back to California to go snowboarding. Later down the road I started getting letters. We wrote for months and got to know each other as best as one can through letters. In those few months, I got more letters than any of my companions combined. Booyah. It didn't take long before I knew, even through letters, that we were in love. We were inseparable from the day I got back from my mission, and have been ever since. Now we have crazy adventures with our dog Bruce Wayne, laugh a lot, eat great food, and GROW (get it?!) together each day!

    Josh. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

He is a senior in college, anxiously waiting to graduate so he can get out of Utah.
He likes to think he's just a "fan" of fitness when really he's a fanatic, but that's just to fight off the inner food fanatic.
He spends too much time sucking up the bandwidth watching youtube videos of foxes, reckless drivers, and street workouts.
He might seem like a tough guy with muscles and guns, but he's a total softie who loves puppies, candles, and animated kids movies.
He has a bad case of road rage, probably because his wife won't let him go back to his high school racing days.

The first time I saw Josh, I was sitting in our usual row in the chapel at church. He came walking in before the meeting started and I thought "Oo! Who's the new guy? He's cute!" And then I saw the missionary tag. Oops. But he wouldn't stop showing up, having dinner at my best friends house when I happened to be there and hanging around chatting about cars with my dad and eventually even in my dreams (what the what?! I know...). So when I moved to Utah and that friend (oh hey, Alethea) urged me to write to him, how could I not? There had to be something more to this! So eight months of writing later, he came home and the dating began. Then two months later the engagement. Though if we're being honest, we both knew we were getting married before we even started officially dating. We got married on a gorgeous drizzly perfect day in February in Oakland, California.

    Bethany. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

She's a graphic designer, but has passion ADD so don't judge her if she isn't designing when you meet her.
She is cross-eyed in her left eye and really should wear her glasses more often.
She prefers the appetizers to the main course. Bring on the eggrolls, fried pickles, and samosas!
She plays the ukulele and sings songs for our Bruce dog (who runs away to the dark corner and ignores her).
She loves eating out and traveling so much she started a travelling foodie blogazine so she'd have an excuse to do more of it.

Why the blog?. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

We've gone back and forth with the idea of starting a personal family blog for a while now. We aren't great scrapbookers so we thought it would be a great way to keep track of memorable events and happenings in our lives not to mention having the ability to share these moments with those friends and family that, like us, are too lazy to call us and see what's up (trust us, we aren't judging). Plus, we want the chance to revisit the good ole days of yore. But it was our increasing hatred and boredom for social media and all the crap that goes on there that eventually pushed us over the edge and onto this blog. If we wanted to get rid of our social media, we needed to find some sort of replacement of keeping our family updated- the main reason we've held on to social media for so long. So here we are! Don't look for us on Facebook. Enjoy our the special/weird/fun moments that we feel like holding on to!
